Non Profit Event Photography | 4 on 4 | Twin Cities, MN

Every month myself and a very talented group of ladies from Clickin Moms get together to create the "4 on 4 Blog Circle" showcasing 4 of our favorite images from the month.  Be sure to click the link at the bottom of this post to explore the circle!
I think this has been the hardest 4 on 4 for me so far.  Usually it's a matter of "Meh, should I post more pictures of my kids?".  This month there were so, SO many adventures to choose from.  After a bit of deliberation I've settled on these four from the Hearthfire Gathering on January 17th.

This woman not only volunteered her entire day for the event to entertain the kids but she also arranged arts and crafts, snacks, and story times...all with a flawless faux Scottish accent.

One of several groups slotted for entertainment was Seisiun 8, a traditional Irish band consisting of guitars, piano, violin, bodhran, mandolin, you name it.  They were fantastic and a lot of fun to photograph.  Every time I brought my camera to my eye at least one of them would stare directly into it with a goofy smile.  They made me work for the candid shots!

Skullarix Crow not only hosted an informative lecture on the history of the bagpipes but also brought her own set and played for everyone as well.

And what is there to say about a live blacksmith?  His work was stunning and he took his time to explain his process to anyone who stepped up with a question.

Event photography is definitely one of my favorites.  I love capturing the details of the events and I love especially providing this service for nonprofits free of charge as often as I am able.  If you are a director for a non-profit looking for assistance with photography click here.
