When my husband and I decided to make the move from Phoenix to Minneapolis I went into research mode.  Where are the nice neighborhoods?  Where should we avoid?  What is there to do?

I discovered a million ideas, places to bring the kids, nooks and crannies to explore.  I've been informed that I haven't lived until I've had Caribou Coffee (I haven't lived yet, but I intend to soon) and that I just had to see the giant spoon in the Walker Sculpture Garden.  It didn't disappoint.

But my favorite part of the day?  My boys not only let me take pictures of them but they kept running around saying, "Take my picture, Momma!".  For a six-year-old and a three-year-old who are usually telling me to "Quit it, Momma," these are beautiful words!

The majority of my adult years have been lived in the Arizona desert.  And while there were certainly flowers in the springtime there was never this much greenery!  I am blown away by how green and fresh everything is here!

And the dandelions.  Minnesota has some of the biggest, puffiest dandelions I've seen.  And they are everywhere!  You could make a hundred wishes without standing up.  The boys were in love.  My youngest had a bit of a harder time getting the seeds to blow away (and I was worried he'd inhale them since he sucked in air harder than he blew it out) but that certainly didn't stop him from trying.

Two days after we left Phoenix (in April, mind you) the first 100 degree day hit.  Yesterday at the Sculpture Garden at noon it was a glorious 72 degrees.  And I've seen more rain in the ten days since we moved here than I did in the last ten months in the desert of Arizona!

I've got to say:  I like your style, Minnesota.  I love the weather, I love the greenery, I love the random pools of water everywhere.  I can't wait for the leaves to change.  I am excited for the 2 degree weather.  Snow?  Bring it on.  There are an infinite number of photographs waiting to be taken and I can't wait to take them all!!
