Deonna | Prior Lake Senior Photographer

Can.  You.  Even?!  When Deonna's mom and I set up this senior session we both had visions of nice fall colors lit by a beautiful clear sky.  Two days before her session we spoke...the forecast was threatening not just a little rain...rain all day.

So we agreed to move it to the next day which gave us hope of "partly cloudy skies".  As it turns out the "partly cloudy" part was to be at 6:00pm with the sun setting at exactly 6:03pm.

Did that stop us?  No way!!

I just brought along my portable soft box and speed light and we went to town!  We started in a covered garage and this girl needed almost no time to get into the swing of things and start modeling like a pro!

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  Seniors are amongst my favorite genres to photograph because they are so full of personality and not afraid to show it.  And Deonna?  She's now in my top 3 of favorite seniors I've shot since coming to Minnesota.

I wish I could bottle up her confidence and market it to every senior I shoot.  Did she feel 100% confident when I had her doing the Running Man in stiletto heels?  Probably not.  But she did it and did it with genuine humor - resulting in STUNNING images of her natural smile and beauty.

After awhile we moved on to a little pond area a couple of yards over and I brought out my portable changing room so she could switch outfits.  Those shoes though!

The sky was still very overcast so we kept the off camera lighting going and ended up with some stunning shots under a canopy of autumn trees.  I mean really, Minnesota!  Could you have any MORE beautiful backdrops?!  Add a gorgeous senior and my job is almost too easy!

I seriously can't say enough about how much fun I had with this girl.  She is absolutely going places.  I didn't have to bust out any of the "conversation openers" that I usually need with semi-shy teenagers.  She was aces.

Have a wonderful senior year, Deonna!!  I wouldn't be surprised if I saw your name in lights one day!
