September 4 on 4 | City at Night

Every month myself and a very talented group of ladies from Clickin Moms get together to create the "4 on 4 Blog Circle" showcasing 4 of our favorite images from the month. Be sure to click the link at the bottom of this post to explore the circle!

Ever have one of those days months where you'd lose your head if it wasn't attached because you've been so busy?  Yea, that's me lately!  So when the opportunity came to visit downtown Minneapolis with Elena this month to dabble in some photography I took it!

One thing I've learned about myself this past year is how much I love photographing urban areas.  There's just something almost tangible about the energy of a bustling metropolis that sets my creativity on fire.

And to try to capture the city in a way that makes it look empty or serene is a unique challenge that I love.  I'm not always successful at it (because lets be honest, time doesn't stop for photographers in the middle of a street.  Or cars for that matter) but when I score a photo like this it makes it worth it!

The next two weeks are my last chance to take shots like these before my schedule gets even busier with client shoots (anyone else think summer vacation was too short?) so I am very glad I was able to take this trip out with Elena.

Be sure to check out Jo Davis to continue the circle!
